The primary HCD (Horizontal Component Distance) mode displays an angle-compensated distance, ideal for the majority of hunters and shooters. This mode should be used for rifle shooting on level ground, rifle shooting with mild slopes up to 800 yards, and all archery shooting.

For rifle shooters using slope-correcting ballistic data, the LOS (Line of Sight) mode provides the actual line of sight range, without ballistic correction. This mode is intended for rifle shooting beyond 500 yards with slopes greater than 15 degrees. Most shooters and archers will not need to use this mode.

The Scan feature allows for continuous range readings, enabling users to pan across a landscape or track a moving target. This feature can be used in both HCD and LOS modes.
